Savory Stuffed Mushrooms
ingredients
- 40 medium mushrooms caps
- 1 pound package lean ground turkey
- ½ teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 8 ounce low–fat cream cheese
- 3 green onions, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- 2 ounces parmesan cheese, finely grated
preparation
- Wash mushrooms. Remove stems and pat dry with a paper towel.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place ground turkey in a large skillet and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until meat is browned and crumbly.
- Drain fat from ground turkey and then add cream cheese. Mix well over medium heat.
- Add black pepper, garlic salt, green onions and basil and mix well.
- Place 1 rounded teaspoon of sausage mixture into each mushroom cap.
- Place stuffed mushroom caps on a rimmed baking pan and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
